Try one of these three amazing wedding destinations!

Monday, September 14th, 2009

After I had decided to have my wedding in Africa, I didn’t want to put my research to waste, so I would share it with you. So here is a list of what the tour operators say are the best and most popular places to get married:

Barbados weddings. Barbados holidays have always been much sought after and the reasons are pretty obvious. The beaches are to die for, not a pebble in sight, and the sea is unbelievably clear. If you decide to honeymoon here as well, you won’t be let down, the people are lively and vibrant, some call this the party island. The Barbados wedding is definitely for those that want to have an exciting honeymoon, and is also relatively cheap. Looking at most of the weddings available, the hotel cost will usually cover the wedding as well, just remember to book in advance!

Wedding in St Lucia. As for the Caribbean, we are to be looking at another island here as well. If you want a all out massive wedding and everything to be sorted out for you, the St Lucia holidays package can be modified to include; wedding coordinator, government fees, clergyman or magistrate, decorated garden or wedding site, witnesses, bridal bouquet and matching buttonhole, wedding cake and even a bottle of bubbly. This is by far the most beautiful of the Caribbean islands, but it does happen to be the most expensive place to get married, other than Antigua.

Kenya weddings, specifically Pinewood Village. The beaches are absolutely glorious, and can you imagine yourself (the bride) being led down to the seaside by an entourage of Maasai warriors under floral archways to the marriage dais on the shore, this wedding is completely exclusive and not a single other wedding will be taking place on the same day as yours. The Pinewood Wedding Package includes a His and Hers massage, manicure and pedicure for the bride, pinhole and bridal bouquet, wedding cake, decorated beach area including bridal archway, cocktail for guests and sparkling wine for bridal couple, optional reception in Peponi Beach Restaurant, sparkling wine on ice in room, all expenses for registration fees, registrar and wedding certificate and even an escort by Maasai warriors.

Any of these holidays are fantastic; I would recommend the Kenya wedding.

Theme Park holidays, now for adults?

Monday, September 14th, 2009

In a sense theme park holidays were considered holidays for families. This had always been thought of as more of a family holiday. Now more and more couples are going to these theme parks, for the holiday packages they offer. With some of the offers around how could anybody turn this down, let’s look at some of the reasons why this is happening.

Well the biggest and most appropriate answer to this is that the prices have become extremely competitive with other holidays. When the prices started to fall they started to compete with St Lucia holidays or Barbados holidays. Now that they had the top accommodation, Theme parks became a strong candidate for quality luxury holidays.

The accommodation at a lot of these theme parks has been on the rise. As soon as they realised that they could corner some more potential customers by giving them somewhere to stay, they have started a completely new tourism market. Disney World is probably the most successful for this; they always have offers on and even specialise in holidays for couples as well.

So now that the Theme Park world had started the tourism craze and given people somewhere to stay, what could be next? The next new thing to come just had to be weddings, so that’s what they did. Once you have a holiday destination and a series of hotels on it, the next thing to do is surely to offer people the chance to get married. Looking at it from the couple’s point of view, what a great place to get married, you then have an exciting honeymoon ahead of you.

What does this mean for the other holidays, like spa holidays or diving holidays? At some point Theme Parks will start to incorporate other holiday types as well? I wouldn’t count Disney world out of this, pretty soon they will have a small ocean in the backyard for people to go diving in!
